What is the Professional Year in IT?

The Professional Year in Computer Science is a job-readiness program aimed at former international ICT students who have been issued a 485 Skilled Graduate Visa. Holders of a Bridging Visa A or B may also apply for entry into the Professional Year.

It blends structured professional and workplace training with a genuine Australian internship, helping graduates bridge the gap between study and an ICT career. All applications must be submitted no later than 3 working days prior to the intake start date.

Delivered on behalf of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Am I eligible?

This program is for former international ICT students issued a 485 Skilled Graduate Visa; holders of a Bridging Visa A or B may also apply. To enrol, you'll need to provide the following certified documents:

  • Copy of your passport.
  • Copy of your 485 Temporary Graduate Visa (Graduate Work or Post-Study Work stream) or Bridging 485 Visa.
  • Academic Transcript and Completion Letter evidencing an ICT-related Bachelor or Master degree from an Australian institution (minimum 2 years' full-time study in Australia).
  • English Language Proficiency test results meeting the DHA "Competent English" requirement.
All students must also undertake a face-to-face pre-enrolment interview with the accredited provider to confirm course suitability and viability.

Internship
