Professional Year Program
The Professional Year Engineering course centres on
international engineering graduates
seeking employment in their chosen engineering
discipline with the intention of migrating to Australia.
Am I Eligible?
Recent graduates of Australian university courses who have applied for or been issued a Skilled- Graduate (Temporary) 485 Visa, or a Bridging Visa A or B, and nominated an Engineering ANZSCO Code for migration purposes.
Other visa holders that are also eligible to apply for the Professional Year are:
- Skilled Recognised Graduate visa (476)
- Secondary visa holder of other visa (Students/457/ENS/RSMS/Labour Agreement)
Applicants must submit a Skills Assessment letter or a skills assessment receipt which has been issued by Engineers Australia.
All engineering students will receive online access to the new myCPD website with EEA which includes Project Management essentials, career development courses and an English pronunciation course through Star Pronunciation.
Engineering students are required to perform 450 internship hours which can be carried out either full time for 12 weeks or part time for 20 weeks.

Price structure for Professional Year (Engineering): enrolments handled by Engineering Education Australia. No application fee.
Professional Year Engineering offered in Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin and Hobart.
- UPFRONT PAYMENT OPTION:
Upfront payment of $15,200
- INSTALLMENT PAYMENT OPTION:
First installment (due before class commencement) $5,500
Second installment (due end of second month) $5,000
Third installment (due end of fourth month) $5,000
All payments are made directly to EEA.
